GAME OVERVIEW

Colour Climb is our second release within the endless runner genre, as well as our second official release overall. This may be an endless runner, but there's actually not much running going on; it's more like an endless "climb". Colour Climb has been inspired by the likes of Colour Switch, and has a very similar concept whereby being the wrong colour at the wrong time will bring about your demise.

In Colour Climb, you play as a little ball trying to escape the purple mist. You must rise as fast as you can in order to get away. Be careful though; to the tune of the beat, platforms rotate between different colours - and your colour may change as you climb! Make sure you're jumping at the right time to land on the right colour, but watch out for traps!

WHERE CAN YOU DOWNLOAD THE GAME?

As with Pixel Path, you're able to find and download Colour Climb for free from the Google Play Store by following this link, or just searching for it! We haven't voiced this game much as of yet, so the player count is low - we will be tackling this in the months to come.

However, unlike Pixel Path, we have actually released Colour Climb for iOS, which you can find here! It is our first dabbling into the platform, so would greatly appreciate any feedback on how we have done and what we can do to improve. Be sure to get the game downloaded on your platform of choice, and do leave us a review! We genuinely love hearing from you. It's helps improve the games we already have released, and release higher quality products in future.

PLATFORMS

Platforms are your main opponent in this game. At the higher difficulties, they turn fast! Your timing and awareness of the following platform really does need to be on-point. The rate of change is predictable though, as there is a background tune and the platforms rotate to the beat. Just jump to the rhythm! Land on a differently coloured platform though, and you'll meet your demise - so watch your jump.

On your climb, you will come across coloured beams. Passing through these is unavoidable, and will change your colour to that of the beam. When choosing which platform to jump to, and one of these beams lie ahead of you, remember to jump onto the platform of colour you're about to be, rather than what you currently are!

The platform sections come in a few different variations, but every platform section rotates once per beat. Identifying the rotation pattern is key to doing well. For example, the platform section containing 4 platforms will rotate in a sequence indefinitely. However, the section with only 3 platforms will rotate clockwise initially, then anti-clockwise. Don't get caught out! There are other gotchas to watch out for, but we won't spoil them here!

DIFFICULTIES AND LEADERBOARDS

In order to try have something for everyone, we've implemented a few difficulties in the standard "easy, medium and hard" game modes. In easy, the beat is slow with fewer colour beams as you climb. It's aimed at a more casual or younger player, who isn't looking for too much of a challenge, but gets satisfcation from climbing high.

The medium difficulty is how we recommend playing the game. It has a fairly fast tempo, offering a nice challenge for the average-skilled player. There are more colour beams the higher you climb, with additional colours announcing themselves at the high heights.

Finally, there is the hard difficulty. This is not for the faint-hearted, as the tempo is fast. If you miss your jump, the purple mist is likely to catch you, as that too moves faster. Your reactions, forward thinking and timing will need to be spot-on. If you're looking for a hard challenge and something that's really rewarding, this is the game mode for you. Expect frequent colour changes, and unexpected traps along the way. Watch your step!

All difficulties have a matching leaderboard, where you can challenge other players as well as your friends! Climb your way to the top to earn yourself those bragging rights.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Achievements is a new dimension for us. Whilst Pixel Path do have some, they weren't a focus of ours. With Colour Climb, however, we wanted the achievements to be a good balance between short- and long-term goals. We have built into the game itself a way to visualise your progress towards the achievements, as well as which achievements you have already unlocked. The achievements very much add to the experience and reward of the game!

WRAP-UP

There is much more to discover as you play Colour Climb, but naturally we don't want to spoil half the fun! Get the game downloaded, earn those achievements and climb the leaderboards!
